Cómo hacer el fondo de una imagen transparente

Utilizaremos el programa IrfanView. 1) Abrimos nuestra imagen en IrfanView. 2) Guardamos nuestra imagen como GIF, asegurándonos de que estén marcadas las casillas "Save Transparent Colour" y "Choose transparent colour during saving". 3) Hacemos click en el fondo (el color) que deseamos eliminar. 4) ¡Listo! Nota: El programa hace transparente un COLOR determinado. Por ejemplo, al pulpito que adorna mi página, tuve que pintarle los ojos de beige para que no se hicieran transparentes junto con el fondo. También me puse a maquillarla en Paint, con el lápiz-mouse, unos buenos minutos, borrándole la marca de agua de GraphicStock parcialmente... Bastante frustrante pero fructífero. :v Así quedó:
